MCE completes the Technical Consultancy and Design Reviews on 157,000 DWT New-building DP2 Shuttle Tanker for oilfield operators “GALP Energia SA” present in four blocks in ultra-deep waters of Santos basin off the coast of Brazil, with areas ranging from 2,075 to 5,229 km² and water depths between 1,600 and 2,500 meters. For the Production and Export phase, “GALP Energia SA” has chartered one DP TYPE II (2) Shuttle Tanker with capability for offshore loading in Dynamic Positioning mode.
Project required a comparative Study of the requirements of Class, Charterers, Owners and SPM Operators with the Yard’s new-build DPST2 vessel specifications and to provide a report to Charterers. This was to be followed by yard visits of Domain Experts during the various phases of vessel construction, including sea trials, to verify compliance to the findings and recommendations of initial assessment and provide a status report on the new build hull.
